I just received a neglected Phoenix Automatic Class 283 sewing machine. I've never seen one before let alone know anything about it. It came in a cabnet with all the accessories plus the book. This is really an unusual machine. The warrenty card says that it was manufactured in Bielelfeld, Germany. The bobbin case is another unusual item. Sewing Machine Repair reviews in Phoenix
- Fthe proprietor refused to hear that I had done the same as he had done,
but the needle thread still would not pick up from the bobbin.
then he walked off without saying anything.
I had taken my vacuum cleaner to this store two years before
& received the same nasty behavior. - AUse this company for many many years in fact probably two decades. They've always done great work, are honest, and competitively priced. They've gone out of their way to show me how things work . They've always done excellent work. I've never had any problems with them. They're very professional. I wouldn't take my machine anywhere else
- AI had damage to my machine due to moving to new house. Because of it my bobbin winder was bent against the machine top and wouldnt stay clicked into place. The side of the machine chipped off because of the impact. After bringing it in and Jason looking at the spring that I thought was the main problem as I couldnt get it to reattach after trying to repair it myself first, days earlier, he told me there was a piece broken off that was to hold the spring and make the bobbin winder click into place when used. He also fixed the bend and had a spare piece so my machine would work. He was fast and really knew his stuff and did all work right and quickly. He made it to where I could keep my first machine ever owned. He checked numerous times to make sure it would work properly with no issues. He was professional and very nice. He answered all my questions as I'm just learning how to use a machine. The cashier was friendly and told me about there special sales they were having. I appreciated that very much. The store is huge with all kinds of amazing things to look at and buy. They have classes, all kinds of amazing machines, tons of products for everything sewing. Awesome customer service. I have a new favorite place and worth the 25 minute drive.
- AMy old sewing maching (20 years old) had started skipping stitches. After having my machine in to a big store for 3 weeks and the repair still not yet done, I turned to Angie's list and found Berina Connection listed. When i called, the lady was very nice and answered my questions. The machine was to be repaired on site by someone with over 25 years experience. She estimated the work (oil, clean and adjust) would be completed in about a week. When I went in with my machine, she showed me the classroom they have and projects they offer in store this spring. Even though they sell a lot of very fancy, advanced machines, they treated my old one (and me) with dignity and respect, and did't try to sell me a new one. They gave me an estimate of one week for the work. Right on time, they called me in the morning saying my machine was ready. It looks brand new and works like a charm. I am so happy to find someone local who does such a competent job for a reasonable price. Business the old fashioned way! How refreshing!
- BThe experience was okay. I thought they were a little pricey. I didn't know anybody else that had ever been recommended to me to do that kind of work, so I decided maybe they were worth it. The job was fine. It was pretty simple. I didn't have much to compare their price against. The quality was fine. They were professional.
- AMy husband took the machine to the shop. Counter service was prompt. They cleaned it and adjusted the tension. It is now working perfectly. They indicated that the work would take 10 days to two weeks. I picked the machine up about 2 1/2 weeks later.
- AIf you re in a hurry, forget this outfit. But if you don't mind a little turnaround time, and you're not the sort who champs at the bit while waiting in line for a small staff to serve a large clientele, 35th Avenue Sew and Vac is a joy. They restored my sewing machine to like-new condition after I managed to break its innards. And they fixed a beloved old Rowenta iron, made in the days when Rowenta built an awesome product unlike anything available today at any price. In my latest encounter, I took a cheap Eureka vac-broom to the repair counter, after I took it apart to clean it and couldn't put it back together. When I dropped a bagful of parts on the service desk, the technician said to wait here. About fifteen minutes later, he came back with the gadget in one fully functional piece. The price? Three bucks.
